Safety Man Truck Safety Awareness Visit

What an incredible experience we enjoyed at YMS today!

We were treated to a visit from a gigantic truck promoting NZ truck safety on our roads.

We watched safety videos, tried out sitting in the cab, and played with the awesome toys in the specially adapted trailer - fantastic!

Week 6: Song of the Week - "We are Aotearoa"

Autumn Maths Continues...

...Following our cornflake leaves data collection yesterday, Angela suggested that we could take a look at the different sizes of leaves.

So we went this line of inquiry, went outdoors and collected 2 big leaves and 2 little leaves each, then had fun sorting them into tiny, little, medium and big leaves!

We were amazed that there were 12 tiny leaves but only 3 big ones and yet they were about level in height! Cool eh - we found out that size was very important today NOT how many or what colour!

Peter and the Wolf - By Te Pihinga

"Ggggrrroooooowwwwwwl!" said theWolf!

We were entertained by a group of students who wanted to share their puppet drama production of the traditional tale 'Peter and the Wolf'.

They had created awesome puppets and Mrs White narrated the tale using a guided reading book on which the activity was based!
