Talking about School Closing...

These are very different times for sure! But as our awesome Prime Minister stated 'We will get through this together, but only if we stick together. Be strong and be kind!'

Te Kākano have been practising washing our hands and making the soap all foamy and singing 'Happy Birthday' twice through.

Drying our hands really well!

If we have had a runny nose 'We blow - we throw - we wash our hands'

AND we sneeze or cough into our elbows then wash our hands!

This image has been created so that we can talk about Covid19 with our youngest learners upwards :)

Haere Mai Mr Loan :)

YMS is such a lucky school for so many reasons!

We support student teacher's coming here on placements to learn their trade!

Mr Joseph Loan is no exception :) He joins Te Kākano class for 4 weeks this term and 1 week in Term 2.

Mr Loan is super excited to learn more about teaching and how important our role really is!

Science is so Much Fun in Te Kākano!

Friday is an opportunity for our youngest akōnga to share some cool treasure from home, to tell us about it and answer questions!

Ollie has been really getting interested in Volcanoes and how they do what they do! Cool right!

So what better treasure to share with friends than your very own VOLCANO!!! What do we already know? What do we want to find out more about? What do you think will happen? What will it look, smell, sound like? How do we make it work? What if we miss one of the ingredients out?

Learn, Create, Share!

Everyone who wanted a turn got a go and lots of different colours were mixed for the larva flow - thank you so much Ollie (and of course Jess) for sharing your cool treasure with us!
