Mrs Wishy-Washy Writing

Kia ora,

Here in Te Kākano we have been reading an awesome Big Book called 'Mrs Wishy-Washy'.

We have been discussing how hard her job must be and would we like to do it?

Have you read it?

Well, Mrs Wishy-Washy lives on a farm with a cow, a pig and a duck.

They keep getting really dirty in the mud and Mrs Wishy-Washy has to scrub them in a tub to get them clean.

BUT...they go and get dirty again!  Poor Mrs Wishy-Washy!

We have actually created our own Mrs Wishy-Washy books so as authors and illustrators we have had to think about our stories from characters to problems to solutions.

Hope you like our writing display!

  1. Hi,
All your books look amazing. What a great display for all the school to see as they enter the library. I wonder if it will inspire others in the school to go and create a book of their own.
I have read Mrs Wishy Washy before and really enjoyed it too.
How long did it take you to write and illustrate your books?

  2. Kia ora Erica,

Thank you very much for commenting on our post.

The books took us a week to make. We did one part every day until they were finished!

Did you know that there were different Mrs wishy-Washy books to read?

We loved the one where the animals went to town and ended up in animal jail before being rescued by Mrs wishy-Washy!

    Ka kite,

    Te Kākanao
