Te Kākano Trip to Tūranga in Christchurch!

We are incredibly lucky to have an awesome new library, Tūranga, open up in the city.
Te Kākano class travelled together with their awesome whānau for a tour around the library behind the scenes and around the building.  We enjoyed the new tunnels, interactive screens and amazing books all around.
When we had finished the tour we walked over to the beautiful Botanic Gardens for lunch, a play and an explore!

Brilliant day had by all :)

Massive thanks to all who made the day run so smoothly!

  1. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and pictures about our visit to Turanga. I loved seeing so many whānau come with our tamariki. I really enjoyed seeing all of the children enjoying seeing all of the books and activities available. I hope the visit inspires everyone to obtain a library card and go forth into Turanga and other libraries.

    1. Kia ora Bella,

It's Mrs T replying to your lovely post as the TK children who went on this trip are all in Te Pihinga now.

We loved being one of the first schools to visit the new Library. We took all our own food and ate it in the Botanic Gardens.

Have you been to Tūranga yet?

      Bye,

      Mrs T :)
