Learn your Letters, Spell your Words Zack!

It is so rewarding when a pupil recognises their achievments without any need for us to point them out!

Today Zack sat and used a spelling activity to show off his skills in spelling -

"Mrs T, Mrs T, come and see the words I can spell.  I know heaps more but I wanted to show you these now! I can spell these all by myself and I know it"

"Wow Zack - this is so awesome - you stuck at it and I'm so proud of what you've done here!"

"I'm proud too because I did it by myself!"

...enough said!

Sisters having fun in Te Kakano :)

Hana started school this week and her sister Mika really enjoyed popping into class to check out what she was so excited about!

Lots of fun before the morning bell has even rung with our 'launch pad' activities provided in class to encourage whanau to spend some time together before leaving :)

What a great place to be!

Great patterns Hana :)

Look Mrs T - we did these together!

Egg Jarping

What an awesome activity we all took part in.

In pairs, we had to tap each others hard boiled eggs together, 'dunshing', when one cracked the other was the winner'!

Michaela was the overall victor and her egg beat 19 competitors to win! Way to go :-D

Well done to everyone who participated!

The Final...

The Winner! :)

Easter Bonnet Parade

We really enjoyed the Easter bonnet parade.  It was awesome to see all the other designs!

Some of us made our brilliant hats at home and some of us made them in class and we loved them all.

We were so proud of everyone's cool creation :-)

Look at those cool hats!

We look so cool!

Every shape and size!

Portrait Gallery

We are great artists in Te Kakano and had an awesome time creating our individual portraits.

Please feel free to come and view our gallery in the Whare Pukapuka, the school library!  :-)

Busy as Bees in Te Kakano!

Hey there everyone!

We have been having the best time in our class taking part in so many different experiences together.

We have been so busy developing skills to help us get better at counting and writing our names and new words.

Working together is lots of fun and gives us the chance to have a good chat about important things like Ninja Turtles and Frozen!

We have the privilege of over hearing these wonderful conversations and finding out everyones special interests!

Te Kakano is awesome!
