Kandinsky Te Kākano and his Concentric Circles!
Kia ora and welcome to our 'Famous Artist' post.
Firstly we investigated the Artist. Mr Wassily Kandinsky. We found out that he was born in Russia but studied art in Munich, Germany and died in France.
He decided to try something different with his work, we think he was happy someone else was painting lots of vases of flowers, portraits and racehorses!
The piece of art that really caught our imagination is called 'Squares with Concentric Circles' done in 1913.
We wanted to paint like real artists so we had to wear art aprons, name our art, work at different stations in the art area, we used our four house colour paints for inspiration, put our art to dry in a safe place, wash our hands and help to tidy the art area once we had finished!
Mrs. T will display our awesome Kandinsky style art once it is all dry - we can not wait to see the exhibit!

Digi Awards 2016: Making a Difference
Here is Te Kākano's entry for the 2016 Christchurch Digi Awards. Our movie is called "Making a Difference", and it is about how we can change the world by doing little kind things.
We are very proud of it, and have been named as award winners at the Digi Awards on Wednesday night. We can't wait to hear what the judges thought of our movie, and we can't wait to hear what you think of it too!
Please post comments at the end of this post :-)
