Oliver's Beanstalk A - Z!...

Once upon a time a boy called Oliver brought in 6 little beans.

Mrs. T got a glass cafetiere and popped some cotton wool, water and a paper towel inside to help them grow.  We could see them growing through the glass.

Each week we monitored them growing and took photos of them to record their growth.

On the last day we planted them out...

Back in class, we decided that we would turn our Big Book into '
Oliver and the Beanstalk' so that our story was even more real!

Last of all we designed and created our own beanstalk that grew up, up, up and around our Castle!

What an adventure...What will happen next?...

  1. Kia ora Te Kakano,

You have had a very busy few weeks watching your beans grow.
How did you get the seeds from the glass jar to the soil without breaking them?

What wonderful learning you have been doing!!!

  2. Kia ora Koromiko,

Hey, thanks for commenting on our Bean post! We have totally loved this experience.

It reminded us of being scientists when we grew plants earlier this year. We learned how to be careful with the plants and move them really gently from one place to another.

Each bean plant has a 'Bean-team' of 3 of us. One of us will be taking our teams bean plant home during the holidays to care for it and then we can see how they are doing when we bring them back to school after the break!

Have you guys grown anything together?

    Ka kite,

    Te Kākano
