Space, the Final Frontier...

Our Space Camp is fast approaching and we are looking at an inquiry around Space and everything that it entails!
Did you know that we left a Lunar Buggy on the Moon? Or that there are no houses on the Moon?
Cool eh!

Leap Year!

Today is the 29th of February. This day only happens every 4 years! We wonder if there will be any babies born in Christchurch today who will have to wait 4 years to have another birthday?!

We will be in Rimu class when the next one happens! Awesome!

Aladdin Was Fabulous!

He's behind you...

We were treated to  a great performance of 'Aladdin' as presented by the second year students from The Hagley Theatre Company based at The Open Stage, Hagley College.

We watched the story unfold around Aladdin, his mother, the Princess, the Sultan and wife, their servants, the Sorcerer, the lamp and of course the Genie! (Who had a very cool dance every time she was summoned from the lamp!)

The troupe engaged the audience who got very involved in the event :)

We also had the chance to ask any burning questions after the performance, to find out about learning lines, creating costumes, make-up techniques, stage cratf and set building!

Can't wait for next year's performance...wonder what it will be?

Swimming in Pyjama's!

Today was our last day with our swimming instructors and they planned for us to have some great fun together :)

"Come in your Pyjama's and see what it is like to be in water WITH some clothes on!"

It was so much fun!

Literacy is Everywhere!

Mrs T and Mrs White think it's pretty funny that one of the TK kids has been taking reading material into the bathroom! But as they say, "The more you read, the more you know. The more you know, the more you grow!"

Water Safety

We are learning how to be safe in the water. We have been getting in and out of the boat and practising how to float with a life jacket on.

Hot Day? Out We Go!

It was a really, really hot day in Christchurch!

Everyone was TOO hot! We decided to go and spend some time outdoors, in the shade with our learning buddies.

It was very COOL! Phew!
