Numicon in Week 3 :)

We have discovered that we are all amazing 'Mathematicians' in Te Kākano class and Numicon is proving to be a fabulous resource to help us problem solve and discuss maths with our friends.

We have loved making totals and equivalents with the Numicon and showing how we understand them!

We have used lots of number in our play around class too!

Enjoy our handiwork - we ARE YMS HERO's :)

  1. Kia Orana Te Kakano,

We love how you are using Numicon in your maths lessons.
Guess what!? Koromiko are using Numicon during maths time too.
We have been using Numicon for counting and learning about our TEEN numbers.
We have also been practising our friends to 10.

We are excited to see what you do next with your Numicon in maths.

  2. Kia ora Te Kakano,

It is so great seeing what you are doing in maths. You care clearly loving having Numicon to use. It was great to see how you have made all the totals and equivalents. I can imagine the happy buzz of children as you worked them out together.

Maybe you could come and show some our Rimu's math groups how you use numicon and what you know? Or we could come to you (small groups of course).

  3. Kia ora Mrs Spragg,

Thank you very much for your kind message.

We would love to bring our Numicon Box into Rimu and let you explore with us to see all the cool things you can do with it. When would you like us to come please? If this is tricky, you can come to TK for sure!

We are very excited to share our amazing learning with you!

    Ka kite,

    Te Kākano
